Party People was Crown Point High School's first (an only, to date) political talk show. It covered everything from public affairs and local government to national politics. Two interviews recorded for Party People brought in Congressman Pete Visclosky, who represented Indiana's 1st district, and Crown Point Mayor David Uran.
Congressman Visclosky spoke to show host, Brianna Morton, in the final days of his tenure as a 18 term representative of the first district. He spoke on the importance of viewing the Northwest Indiana Transportation District as an asset and its ability to keep the Region connected and economy centralized. He also campaigned for his now-successor, Congressman Frank Mrvan.
Mayor Uran joined us in the weeks before his final election in Crown Point, where he ran against Kristie Dressel. Mayor Uran spoke on public affairs, the importance of engaging with our community, and the growth priorities for the City of Crown Point. He won with 78% of the vote.
Mayor Uran's interview went on to be recognized by the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters.
